Abstract:

Mechanical filtration of solid/liquid phases using pusher centrifuge has been a prevalent operation in industry. The purpose of the current study is the functional and structural analysis of the two-stage pusher centrifuge Dynamic Performance. In this regard, modal, particle behavior scatter, and transient state Dynamic analysis have been considered. The results have revealed a safety margin of 40% for resonance plausibility for the entire set and inner basket subset due to the internal linear and rotary forces. In addition, based on the results of the transient Dynamics analysis, the stability of particle behavior has been about 5.5 s or 68% of the particle feeding time, the maximum displacement at the critical point of the inner basket subset was 1.3 mm, and the critical stress on it was about 70 MPa. In overall, it has been recommended to keep the rotational speed as it is (36.68 rad/s), together with the same feed rate as specified (0.56 kg/s).

Given the importance of the subject matter scorecard model and Dynamic systems to evaluate University of Hormozgan Performance in an efficient and effective way, to identify the strengths and weaknesses and improvement of university Performance in achieving the university's strategic goals. Method This study uses system Dynamics approach. First, after reviewing the theoretical literature and the views of the university experts, key variables were identified in the field of university Performance Evaluation and causal relationships between these variables were drawn up. Then, the mathematical relations between these variables were determined based on the existing relationships in the background and, accordingly, the system was simulated in Hormozgan University during the period from 1390 to 1406 Findings Findings show that research quality indices, including “ the university rank in the University Rankings” , “ competitive ability” and “ service quality” have had a moderate upward trend between 2011 and 1977, which is expected to continue upward by 1406. "Student Satisfaction" Index of the customer dimension of Balanced Scorecard has been declined from 2011 to 2015. Then, during the years 1394 to 1397 the index has increased with an average slope which is expected to continue until 1406 with an average slope of this trend. Conclusion Finally the indicators of “ increasing sabbatical leaves for academic staff members” , and “ increasing training courses for students” , and “ increasing number of students who attend to scientific communities and conferences, from the learning and growth dimension, “ increasing funding for educational, welfare and research facilities” from the financial dimension, and the “ increasing number of recruited faculty members” from the internal processes dimension of the Balanced Scorecard have been introduced as improvement policies for promotion of the university Performance.

Abstract:

Intake towers form the entrance to the reservoir spillway or diversion system and thus play a key role in the seismic resistance of the whole system. Safety and proper functioning of the intake towers in the event of a major earthquake are very important since the release controlled by the reservoir can help to prevent the failure of the dam after an earthquake by reducing the water pressure. In addition, the current seismic assessment based on the linear elastic constitutive model cannot adequately describe the seismic capacity of intake towers. Thus, to investigate the proper functioning of intake towers in the event of an earthquake, it is necessary to introduce IDA that takes into fully assesses the seismic Performance of intake towers based on nonlinear Dynamic analysis. In this paper by modeling the intake tower of the Briones dam, intake tower in three conditions of the intake tower, the intake tower-reservoir (outside water) and the tower-reservoir-inside water, under the influence of 12 earthquake records, each of which has a magnitude of seven in the earthquake intensity scale, has been investigated. The displacement at the top of the intake tower, damage to the intake tower body and the maximum tensile stress of the rebar in the intake tower were studied in all three conditions are considered as damage measure (DM), and the results were reported in the form of IDA curves. Then based on the results, the function and different limit-states (key points) of the intake tower structure are determined.

Abstract:

Dams are among infrastructural and essential structures which are designed and implemented for storage of water for multi-purpose usage. One of the natural events that constantly threatens the sustainability of dams is the earthquake. Therefore, accurate modeling and investigation of dam behavior considering the effective parameters and interactions during earthquake is one of the principles of safety Evaluation of dams. With the advancement of knowledge in the field of earthquake engineering and the development of more precise methods for estimating the intensity of possible earthquakes, The methods of analyzing and evaluating the seismicity of the structures have been improved and the effects of more parameters can be considered in assessing the risk of each structure. Considering the nonlinear behavior of materials and the effect of cracking and its extension in dams, as well as more precise expression of the forces involved in, and its analysis with more advanced methods, are included as the important achievements of earthquake engineering in this field in recent years. For nonlinear analysis of concrete dams, nonlinear behavior of these structures by choosing existing methods requires acquaintance with the functional nature of the materials. In the past, seismic analysis of concrete gravity dams was most often considered ideally by using two dimensional monoliths in design mechanisms, and earthquake effects were usually applied by defining an earthquake coefficient. But in recent years, more emphasis has been placed on linear time history analysis and the failure analysis of the concrete dams in three dimensional space. In the present study, the seismic response of a concrete arch-gravity dam under the influence of earthquake stimulation is investigated in a three dimensional finite element analysis. The effects of dam-reservoir-foundation interactions are considered, the nonlinear behavior of the concrete and also the different patterns of the arc radius of the dam are studied and the results are compared with the two dimensional analysis. Finally, the contribution of response of each of the sustainability factors to seismic stimulation is evaluated. In the present study, the seismic response of a concrete arch-gravity dams has been evaluated through three dimensional nonlinear incremental Dynamic analysis (IDA). For this purpose, five different-radius arch-gravity dam-reservoir-foundation coupled systems are analyzed under a set of 7 proper three-component ground motions, each scaled to 10 increasing intensity levels. The effects of dam-reservoir-foundation interactions are considered and the nonlinear behavior of the concrete and also the different patterns of the arc radius of the dam are studied. A damage index (DI) has proposed so that the damage imposed to the dam body is calculated based on the obtain results from the IDA study. Crest displacement, tensile damage occurred in various zones of the dam body and energy dissipation are considered as damage measure (DM), then the Performance and different limit-states of the dam structure are determined.

Abstract:

This study introduces an advanced Performance measurement system for 31 municipalities in Tehran and Shahriar, integrating the Balanced Scorecard (BSC) and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) methodologies. The combination of BSC and DEA was chosen because BSC offers a multidimensional framework for assessing Performance from diverse perspectives, while DEA provides a quantitative tool for evaluating efficiency, particularly useful when dealing with multiple inputs and outputs. Together, they allow for both qualitative and quantitative Evaluation of municipal Performance, addressing the need for comprehensive Performance assessment. However, traditional DEA models often fail to account for Dynamic changes and intermediate linkages between these perspectives over time. The Dynamic Network Slacks-Based Model (DNSBM) of DEA, proposed in this study, addresses these limitations by incorporating both network interdependencies and Dynamic changes in Performance Evaluation. Field studies and expert interviews revealed interconnections between BSC perspectives, and Dynamic changes were modeled by linking networks over multiple periods. The model estimated efficiency values for each period, showing an average overall score of 0.857, with specific scores for financial (0.94), learning and growth (0.83), internal processes (0.96), and customer (0.34). Statistically significant correlations were found between most perspectives, except financial and learning/growth. The model identified Dynamic Performance trends, inefficiency levels, and strategies to improve underperforming DMUs, offering a comprehensive approach to enhancing municipal Performance.

Abstract:

In this paper, the Performance of a four degree of freedom parallel manipulator with Schönflies motion is evaluated from kinematic and Dynamic points of view. Its low inertia makes it a suitable choice for pick-and-place applications, which demand high velocity and acceleration. So, the Dynamic characteristics of the robot are of high importance. Moreover, parallel robots suffer from a small workspace, on which their singularities put additional constrain. Hence, this paper studies the kinematic and Dynamic behavior of the robot in-depth to give a clear perspective to path planning and its applications. To perform kinematic analysis, constraint equations are derived based on the geometric method, and then Jacobian matrices are determined via velocity analysis. By considering the constraint equations and joint limits, reachable workspace is determined applying point-to-point search algorithm and singularities are identified by the inverse and direct Jacobian matrices. For Dynamic modeling, Euler-Lagrange formulation is applied and both kinematic and Dynamic models are verified by the results obtained from mechanism simulation in ADAMS software. Furthermore, for Evaluation of the robot Performance, pressure angles are employed to show the equality of motion/force transmission, and Dynamic indices based on joint space inertia matrix are applied to illustrate its Dynamic behavior.

Abstract:

Organization managers tend to use an optimal and precise method to evaluate the Performance of their organization by understanding the organization Dynamics. The immediate research goal was to propose a Dynamic model for the Performance Evaluation of a LARG supply chain with the balanced scorecard (BSC) approach. In this study, Dynamic simulations are carried out for the Performance Evaluation of a supply chain. At first, a strategy map was designed, and measures are identified for each strategic objective considering the LARG supply chain measures. Then, a quantitative Dynamic model was designed to identify the mathematical relationships among them. Based on the company’, s strategic objectives, scenarios were designed and analyzed to evaluate the Performance. Each of the elements is incompatible in pairs in some metrics. Designing a balanced Performance Evaluation model allows to determine the effect of each strategic decision on the final Performance of the company and to define the best scenarios and make the best decisions. Implementing each of the LARG elements can affect the Performance of the company. Depending on which strategy is used among the four LARG options, their effect on the company's profitability can be evaluated.

Abstract:

Due to the lack of measurements in many regions, wave characteristics are estimated using different methods. Wave climate hindcasting/forecasting is mostly conducted by numerical models or empirical methods. Until now, different empirical methods have been developed for wave hindcasting. However, with the development of high speed processors, several sophisticated numerical models have been developed for wave prediction. These models are mostly phase-averaged spectral wave models developed in three generations. In the last two decades, third generation wave models have been used widely in academic and practical projects. In this regard, Port and Maritime Organization has produced his own model, PMO Dynamic. This model has been developed as a part of first three phases of Monitoring and Modeling of Study of Iranian Coasts project. PMO Dynamic package is a software available for engineering purposes. It has several modules that have been developed for different objectives. Wave model is the module which is used for the generation and transformation of wind waves in coastal areas. In this paper, in order to test the PMO Dynamic model capabilities, it has been applied for the prediction of wave parameters in Bushehr Bay and the results have been compared with MIKE21 SW model and measured data.
